Big Block Quilts

Finally, a sewing day!  I feel like I haven't sewn in forever.  Just way too busy - but today was cold and rainy and I actually had TIME to sew!  I got this done.
I had cut out 1 fabric last week, but was somewhere else where I couldn't iron it and decided it all really needed to be pressed.  So, a week later - I got around to ironing and cutting.  This was from a kit that I bought at Marden's for $10 - it included 6 different fabrics of 1/2 yard cuts plus the backing.  I did cut it out a tiny bit wrong so pieced together a bit of my own "pattern" to make it all fit, but no one would ever be able to tell.

Today was rainy and cold.  Still continues to be in the high 40's, low 50's here.  Last week was sunny, but with a cold wind.  I always like it when people post scenery photos of where they live - so here are some photos I took down by the wharf.
This is an outdoor lobster cage.  They get filled with lobster and kept in the cold water with air pumping in there. More and more lobster pounds are being moved into indoor facilities, but we still have some wharf side pounds.

I like the colors of the quilt and love the photos of the scenery. I love New England and enjoy seeing your pictures. I guessed I missed it when you came back to the states. I hope the men are okay back in the other country. The little one is not so little any more. Thanks for all your nice comments on my blog and I enjoy reading yours, quilting or knitting as I do both also.
